Where This Started
Joshua Brosius did not decide to become a chimney sweep. He was raised into it.
His father founded Always Fire & Gas in Ocala in 1982, and from an early age, Joshua was on the job alongside him. Not observing. Working. Learning to read a flue, handle a sweep, talk to a homeowner, and understand that every chimney they touched was connected to someone’s family and someone’s home.
His father ran the business on a simple philosophy. He came back to it often, and he borrowed the words from Zig Ziglar:

That is not a marketing line. It is how the business was built, and it is how Joshua runs it today.
Over four decades, Always Fire & Gas grew from a single-truck family operation into one of the most credentialed and fully staffed chimney, fireplace, and gas service companies in North Central Florida. Joshua earned certification after certification, added a licensed gas contractor credential and a residential contractor license to reach homeowners that other chimney companies simply could not legally serve, and built a team large enough to meet the demand that four decades of reputation creates.
Today, as sole owner, Joshua leads a team of more than 20 professionals holding two state licenses and six national certifications, serving Marion, Alachua, Lake, Sumter, Citrus, Putnam, Hernando, Orange, Volusia Counties and all surrounding areas.

Every chimney sweep includes heavy-grade single-use tarps on all flooring and furniture, and a professional 3-motor vacuum with fine micron HEPA filtration. Soot, dust, and debris are fully contained and removed before we leave. Not mostly removed. Fully removed. We put that in writing because we have never had a reason not to.
